People with mild to moderate sagging on the lower face and neck may be candidates for the minimally invasive FaceTite procedure with or without Morpheus8 RF microneedling. This FDA-cleared procedure can provide an effective alternative to a facelift for people who are not ready for surgery.
A facelift helps restore more rested, youthful-looking contours of the face and neck.
Our board-certified plastic surgeons have more than 50 years of combined experience in all facets of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. As a qualified and compassionate team, they share a goal of providing a safe and rewarding plastic surgery experience while creating exceptional results worthy of your trust.
Facelifts vary in extent, depending on the location and skin laxity. All facelifts are done on an outpatient basis under sedation with local anesthesia. If there is loose skin in the lower face or neck, incisions behind or in front of the ears may be necessary.
Incisions are made in the hairline (or along the hair margin) above the ear, extending down around the earlobe and extending in or below the hairline behind the ear. The neck muscles are tightened, the facial skin is re-draped and lifted, and the excess skin is removed.
A facelift focuses on the lower face. To rejuvenate the upper face, a facelift may be combined with a brow lift to address a sagging forehead or brows that hang onto the upper eyelids. The brow lift may be performed using the endoscopic technique, which involves short incisions hidden in the upper hairline, or with the coronal technique which requires longer incisions.
Additional procedures that may complement facelift results include:
With a facelift, the patient goes home with the head and neck wrapped in dressings, which are usually removed the next day. Initial discomfort is usually controlled with oral medication. Sutures are removed within 7 to 14 days. Bruising and swelling decrease to socially acceptable levels in 10 to 20 days, but can last 2 to 3 months or longer. Camouflage makeup is available to temporarily conceal any redness or bruising once the sutures have been removed.

Improvement is evident in 4 to 6 weeks or sooner, with continued improvement over several months.
